Named after the family behind OV-Group, Kilcoyne's started as a single micro Irish bar on Wigan Lane. The vision was always bigger — to roll the concept out across the borough and beyond, bringing authentic Irish hospitality to communities across Wigan and Greater Manchester.

The big one. Four shops merged into one super premises on Market Street, facing the new Hilton Hotel and Fettlers development. A large licensed venue bringing Irish ales, local ales, multiple pool tables, darts lanes and live sport — one of OV-Group's biggest projects to date.

Kilcoyne's isn't a one-off — it's a concept designed to scale. The plan is to establish Kilcoyne's Irish Bars in communities across Wigan and beyond, each with its own character but united by the same core identity: great Guinness, live entertainment, sport on the big screens and a warm Irish welcome.
With the original on Wigan Lane already established as one of the most popular small bars in the town, and a major new site on Market Street in development, the Kilcoyne's brand is set to become a fixture of hospitality in the North West.

Kilcoyne's Irish Bars are the only dedicated Irish pub concept in Wigan, operated by OV-Group. With a flagship micro bar already established on Wigan Lane and a major new venue under development on Market Street in Wigan Town Centre, the Kilcoyne's brand is bringing authentic Irish hospitality to the heart of the borough. From perfectly poured Guinness and Murphy's Irish Stout to live entertainment, sport and a genuine community atmosphere, Kilcoyne's is setting a new standard for Irish pubs in Wigan, Greater Manchester and the North West.
New Kilcoyne's Bar Opening — Market Street, Wigan
OV-Group have acquired four commercial units on Market Street, Wigan Town Centre, which will be merged into a single large licensed premises and transformed into the second Kilcoyne's Irish Bar. Located opposite the new Hilton Hotel and the Fettlers development, the Market Street site represents one of OV-Group's most ambitious projects — featuring Irish and local ales, live sport, multiple pool tables, darts lanes, live entertainment and a dedicated events space. Works are underway, with completion timed to align with the wider Wigan Town Centre regeneration.
